With Walker Evans achievements in photographing the Great Depression, which struck America between 1929-1939, he is well worth mentioning.  While his time is far different than today, the country is back in a depression.  Utilizing my black and white photos I was able to capture the essence of being trapped and contained.  Nothing clear with the hopes that a light will be at the end of the tunnel.  More than just gathering pictures of the Depression, Walker was able to capture the essence and the feelings that went along.  He also loved to shoot landscape and architecture.

While I am still a young and aspiring photography with I decided to go to New York City, where depression is at the core.  While the lights shrine bright and the city seems to be alive, it is not.  It is drowning in sorrow and despair.  To commemorate Walker Evans love of landscape and architecture, while focusing on the poor and depressed.
